I hope to get decent photos of my Brambles Beret up soon. I'm going to borrow a friends cell phone, go outside on a sunny day (when we finally have one) and take some pics. LOTS of pics. Usually, if I take enough pics, I manage to get at least one that comes out clear.

I'm now working on the scarf worn by the character Amy Pond in the "The Vampires of Venice" episode of Doctor Who. It's a request by a friend, and he bought the yarn, so it's the least I can do. He says, quite earnestly, that he wants to learn to knit. So far, he only understands the basic. He managed to make a simple scarf for my mom, and I made the pom-poms for it. What's holding him back is his inability to believe in himself. I wish he'd just throw that kind of caution to the wind and dive in. It's just knitting
, he has nothing to lose.
, he has nothing to lose.Anyway, the scarf is going slower than I'd expected. I've never knit a p2tog-b before (purl 2 together through the back), and it's kind of a pain. It slows me down, then it takes me a moment to get my rhythm back up. Also, the "frost flowers" chart I found was terrible, so I had to take the written chart, clean it up, and generate a whole new chart that clearly marked the purls from the knits. What little scarf is currently knit is cute. I was originally going to knit it according to some that I saw on cosplayers, but I've been looking up screenshots. I'm probably going to frog it, and start over. It should be twice as wide as what I've currently got. On top of that, we may not have enough yarn... IDK... Here's hoping!
Also, I need to look up how to soften polyester without damaging it, because the yarn he bought is polyester, and I despise how it feels. I worry the scarf won't have the right amount of 'slink'.

In gaming news, I screwed up my last game of Dragon Age: Origins, and lost EVERYTHING. I was rather upset for a moment, because I put a lot of work into that character. Finally I just restarted, and this time I am playing as a male dwarf noble. :-D My sense of humor is a bit... perverse, so I named him Sifilus. (Say it out loud.) He started off quite nice, polite, and very, well --- noble. After being framed for the slaying of his brother, and exiled from his homeland, I had him start making some darker choices. Sacrifices had to be made along the way. (I made the mistake of taking Shale all the way into the deep roads when seeking Branka, and when I was telling Caridin that I needed the anvil to bargain with Branka, Shale turned on me. So... Long story short, we had to kill our golem friend. Thankfully I didn't have any of the annoying boyscouts in my party at that moment (Alistair or Leliana, both of them are so... moral. Heh...) Things are a bit harder without Shale, because she was one of the heavy hitters, but I still have Sten, and the dog. Even the dog makes a decent tank. Oh, and I had him start flirting with Leliana, and she was most interested back. Well, when the opportunity came to get the "Witch gone Wild" achievement, I jumped. So now Leliana is all weird with this character, and I'm trying to get that last "join me in my tent" achievement. ARG... On the bright side, this time I'm doing the quest to seek revenge on Marjolane for Leliana, so maybe that'll do the trick. I'm also planning to "harden" her, because I think she'd be more interesting and useful if she weren't so bloody NICE all the time.
Kay, that's enough typing for now, I need to go frog that scarf, then start over...
