Well, I finally got a referral to a specialist. It was a rheumatologist, & after listening to me describe my symptoms, reading the results of bloodwork, & poking & prodding she reached a tentative diagnosis. She prescribed some pills to test it out. I came back two weeks later, not hurting as bad. I was actually sleeping better, which probably was helping me feel better. I've been able to resume my knitting, as well as do some mild housework. I don't feel completely useless! YAY!

She's now completely certain that I have Fibromyalgia. It really sucks to be diagnosed with something I keep having to check the spelling of, because it just looks WONKY, doesn't it? I guess this should make sense, because my biological mother was diagnosed with it in the past, although I never gave it much though. Most everyone I knew said it was a "fake" illness that people use to garner attention. Well, I'm not faking being in pain, nor any of the other symptoms. So if this is what fibro is, then it's plenty damn real.

Here's the interesting thing, I've heard my sister (biological aunt) and Mommy (biological maternal grandmother) both complain of many of the same symptoms I have. This makes me curious: Is this the sort of illness that runs down bloodlines? Right now I'm thinking both of them need to be seen by somebody. Although, this is harder for my sister, because she lacks insurance, & we live in the USA, which is a country that tends to have the philosophy that "the disabled poor should just die off". It's kind of weird, even people like my mother & sister, both who would greatly benefit from Universal Healthcare, are staunchly opposed to it. Like that old saying, they are the chickens voting for Colonel Sanders.
Okies, that's all for now. While I'm still feeling decent, I'd like get some stuff done at some of my various sites. Take care all! :-*

Have a happy Winter Holiday of your preference!
